March - April 2025
Below we present you some highlights from the activities of March and April 2025.
We started spring in full force, tired of a winter that wasn't really winter, we missed the snow a bit.
We started with the orchard: digging, cleaning, painting the trunks (photo 1), but also with the small vegetable garden, the one next to the fireplace (photos 2, 3). We also renovated the spaces for this year's new batch of chickens, so that they would feel welcome with us. (photos 4,5) We also renovated a space for piglets, the old one being quite affected by the pigs' stay over several years. (photos 6,7,8) We also purchased food for the little animals, so that they would grow big and beautiful. (photos 9, 10)
And when we were about to start planting in the large garden, the weather turned bad, even in April (photo 11), fortunately the little snow didn't last long (photo 12), but the low temperatures continued to surprise us until June.
During this period, we also managed to scrap 3 very old and unusable cars (photo 13), and thanks to Claudine from Germany, we replaced 3 useful but broken pots, she enriched us with many more useful pots (photo 14). We managed to renovate another bedroom (photo 15), but on the other hand, new damage has accumulated that needs to be repaired (photo 16, 17). We also did something atypical for this period, we put pickles in March, thanks to a donation we received which consisted of cucumbers. (photo 18)
At the beginning of March, we celebrated Mother's Day, on the 8th, we made the children bouquets of spring flowers that they gave to their teachers (photos 19,20). The children also made martisoras, which foretell the arrival of spring, which they also gave to their teachers, colleagues and educators. (photos 21,22)
At the end of March, Cosmina, one of our girls who was already approaching the age of 19, chose to move into a rented apartment and, in parallel with school, to get a job. We said goodbye to her, advising and encouraging her to apply all the good teachings she learned in our home, for her own good. (photos 23,24)
We were visited by Andrusca, our daughter who left for her home 10 years ago, and she came with a group of 40 children and adolescents. We had pleasant moments together (photo 25). The children also met “Gioco” an old friend who insulated our house, another reason for joy (photo 26), and the brothers Brai and Ursu, met their brothers again, in a meeting organized by Child Protection. (photo 27)
We also want to thank Antonio, another child raised at Casa Ray, who now works in Germany and who every time he visits us comes with a car full of gifts, both from his friends and from Claudine, our mutual friend. Be blessed, dear ones! (photos 28, 29) We also want to send our thanks to the Romanian Royal Food Bank. Thanks to the collaboration we have with them, we were able to participate in a food collection at Lidl around Easter. An enormous blessing! (photo 30)
Thanks also to our friends in Italy from the church in Padua, who facilitated the purchase of clothes and shoes for the children. The boys of the house also had a day of shopping this spring. (photos 31-33)
The celebrants in March and April were Alexandra, Vasilica, Ionela and Alexa. God bless everyone! (photos 34, 35)
In April we celebrated Easter, a reason for joy, relaxation but also a lot of work. Even though it is later, but always relevant, we say to you from the heart “Christ is risen!” (photos 36-45)
