July - August 2025

With the arrival of July, the children really entered the summer vacation. Even though the financial situation is difficult, we still wanted our children to have at least one camp this year. We gave up on the mountain camp and chose the seaside camp, and this one was done on a reduced budget, with food taken from home and prepared in the room on some days. Also, visits to the objectives were removed from the list, leaving only the visit to the Constanta Casino, a newly renovated historical building. However, we had a big surprise here too when, following the request we made to receive a discount on the tickets, we were refused, but one of the employees could not accept this refusal, so he decided together with his mother to pay for our tickets in full and on top of that, he was also our tour guide, presenting everything to us with passion and detail. Wonderful! The children had a great time at the beach, as they do every year. (photos 1-10)

After we returned home, we had a big celebration. On August 3, Nicu Vacaru got married. Another baby flew from our house. We were very happy for his happiness and because he found his chosen one, Amalia Nicusan, a faithful girl from the city of Targul Mures. May God shower countless blessings on their newly established family. (photos 11, 12)

During this period, we also took advantage of the vacation by making several visits on various occasions.

With the older girls, we went to Targul Mures for a day to participate, together with the young people from the Elim Pentecostal Church, in the swearing-in of a young friend of ours, Cosmin Apetrei, as a military doctor with the rank of officer. A beautiful day, with pomp, games and good cheer. (photo 13) Also, with the older girls, we also visited the Pascaru family, also with the aim of socializing and “playing together”. (photos 14, 15)

In turn, we were visited by a group of Americans, who presented a skit to the children, played games and had a good time together, and the little ones returned the visit of the group from America, participating 5 evenings in a row in different activities for children organized at the Baptist Church.           We were also visited by a group of ladies from Oradea, who have a life experience that you rarely hear. They consulted with the older girls and some of the employees, answered the questions that were addressed to them, spoke to those who wished to in private, a meeting that comforted many hearts. (photo 17)

We also had a one-day camp with the children from Elim. How can it be when you have 60 children in the yard? Really good, we could say. Let the pictures convince you. (pictures 18 - 20)

And last but not least, we received a visit from the Walter family from Austria, a family that takes special care of the needs of DumitriteBrai, but also of other children like her. On the occasion of this visit, they purchased many supplies for us that we need for the start of school. What a great blessing! It was an honor to meet them and to have them as partners in this work.           The celebrations of the months of July and August, over which we pronounce heavenly and earthly blessings, were: Iulian – 8 years old, Rares, 11 years old, Gheorghe – 12 years old, Natalia – 16 years old and Mirabela – 18 years old. Be blessed, dear ones! (photos 22, 23)

As for the activities at home, various as usual: working in the kitchen, doctor, shopping, sharing, water fight, homemade goodies fair, donations from Claudine, donations from the food bank, donations to others, working in the solarium and garden, at the raspberry plantation, haymaking, etc. (photos 24 – 33)

On the farm, as in life, some are born, others die or are sacrificed. We have plus 12 piglets and 4 geese and minus one pony (which died, was sick), a cow that we sacrificed, a piglet that we sacrificed and many chickens. So at the end of the calculation, sausages and meat ready for consumption. (photos 34 - 36)

As for the arrangements, we have done some strictly necessary work, an alley, a facade, a water tank and a septic tank for the stables. We also contracted a company to collect cardboard and paper. (photos 37 - 39)

Last but not least, we want to mention an event that we marked with a festive meal and 30 cakes (since we had received a donation with cake tops), namely, 30 years since the founding of the Casa Ray home. (photos 40 - 42)
