January - February 2022

Good to see you again, dear friends!

We were preparing to present to you how the months of January and February passed for us, here at Casa Ray, but in the light of the new events that have taken place on the border of our country, in Ukraine, our hearts and thoughts are preoccupied with these people, who are in great suffering and distress.

We could not remain indifferent to the trauma our neighbors are going through and knowing that we have empty guest houses, we showed our willingness to accommodate some of those in need. This is how 22 people have been able to stay with God's help so far. Practically the Casa Ray home has doubled its number of "tenants", 22 children beneficiaries of our center and 22 guests.

All those we have accommodated so far, are passing through Romania, and will continue their journey to their relatives who are further away, and in their place will come other people and so on … We expect a continuous flow of people.

They thank us constantly and tell us that they are blessed to help us in these times, but our answer for them is: “We are blessed that we can help you and that we are not in your place!”

I believe that God will help us to take care of these souls and our children and although it will be a demanding time, we want to do it with joy and all the dedication and we also want to thank in advance all those who will support us in this “project”.(pictures 1-5)

And yet, because there were significant "events" at the Ray House during this period, we want to briefly list some of them:

  • For Denisa, Ionela, Gheorghe and Vasile, they received the agreement to become adoptable, so the child protection started the steps to prepare an adoption file, in case someone will be interested. (pictures 6-9)
  • After a long time, Denisa managed to meet her two brothers, who are in foster care with 2 different nurses. The reunion was full of joy and emotion. (pictures 10, 11)
  • The Opel minibus broke down, but with the help of Adi Gavril it was repaired. Thank you! (pictures 12,13)
  • We managed to connect the farm to the water network of the village, a project we have wanted for a very long time, because often the dry fountain or the pump break down. (picture 14)
  • We managed to pour the bridge over the ditch, so that we could enter the garden with a tractor or other equipment. (picture 15)
  • We also managed to haul all the rubble from one of the disused farm buildings and moved a cistern to collect rainwater and irrigate the garden. (pictures 16-18)
  • We bought 120 cubic meters of wood to have time to dry until next winter and it was a colossal job to cut them, crack them, carry them and store them. Thanks to the volunteers from the Pentecostal church and to the other friends who helped us, a total of 24 people who worked with us for a day… saved us a lot of work. (pictures 19-21)
  • We started with the help of our employee, Lacramioara and together with the children, to do another "colossal" job, to clean the orchard of thorns-rosehips-wild roses. There are a lot of them, it will take us some time. (pictures 22,23)
  • The vineyard collapsed on the old support so a new one had to be built. (picture 24)
  • Some of the children also received individual gifts from different people, which made them very happy. (pictures 25, 26)
  • We had some health problems with one of the new girls, now we are in the process of investigating to determine the exact cause. (picture 27)
  • We filled a few more bags of meat from a pig we raised.(pictures 28-30)
  • With God's help we were able to complete all the necessary documentation to be licensed in transportation and to be able to use the big minibus. The children were very happy with the first trip! (picture 31)
  • Doinita left for Spain for a month, as part of an exchange program for her medical school experience. It was a unique life experience for her. Now she's back home and says she "missed us so much.” :) (picture 32)
  • The celebrants of these two months were Doinita, Ciprian and Ionut. We couldn't celebrate Doinita, because she was in isolation. Besides her, we had only one other case of Covid, Madalin, and among the employees we had 3 cases. So we could only celebrate Ciprian and Ionut. (pictures 33-35)
  • Last but not least, play and work were not lacking at Casa Ray. (pictures 36-42)

Thank you!
